Finally complete with editing the photos from the Grand Canyon trip. I had a great time getting to know the valleys in this dessert. Water is the source of life here and many could survive here given the ability to harvest crops such as grains on the canyon floor and cultivate animals from above on the flat hilly lands that Bar 10 Ranch now occupies. The Cessna Caravan brought us in along with four guides; Ben, Lindsey, Lucky, and Sam. Six days later we would rendezvous with the helicopter just beyond Lava Falls, a class 10 on the Grand Canyon water rafting scale of technical difficulty. The flow was controlled by the power needs of Las Vegas which has the river flowing at 8,000-14,000. Included on the trip was Mom, Dad, Danielle, and David. We should plan these more often.
I made this using iMovie and photos were shot with the GoPro Hero 4 Silver and the Pentax K3. The quick sequence of my Mom was created with multiple shots taken with the Pentax and manually edited the time for each of the about 9 pictures to .5 seconds in the iMovie software. The time lapse shot at the end was compiled out of camera at 10 fps, shot at 1 picture for every 10 seconds, then sped up 4x to get a smoother and faster light transition in iMovie along with their very nice Romantic Video Effects and Ken Burns Effects. Exported to youtube at 1080p.
This sequence was taken with the Pentax K3 continuous shutter every 2 seconds.
